The holy grail Viet slide.
In Vietnam (known as dép tổ ong) SpeedCars are frequently worn by the working class in part because of their durability and low cost. Though in Vietnam, it’s not uncommon to see kids, adults, rich, poor, young, old, wearing them. If you need to run out to the corner store quick, run out to get some mail, sure no problem, everyone has a pair.
These rubber slides are virtually indestructible. They are simply the best for everyday anything, inside, outside, swimming, fishing, golfing, doing 180 no-complies, biking, hiking, walking, light jogging, gambling, and on and on.
SpeedCars always caught my eye when I was younger and returning to Vietnam. The silhouette, colour, material, gothic logotype, the foot inprint on the footbed, and even the packaging is incredible.
Like the famous idiom, “if the shoe fits, wear it, and if it doesn’t fit, at least you have a shoe”.
Hope you enjoy yours!
